Happy 2020 and Happy New Year! Can you all believe that we are entering a new decade?! I think it is so crazy that 10 years have already passed and I would have to say that this past decade has probably been one of the most fun and interesting ones yet. So I am so ready to see what 2020 and this new decade has in store. With that being said, I thought it would be fun to write a post about some of my 2020 resolutions or goals as I like to call them. I never normally come up with a list of goals but I figured with a new decade why not set up some AWESOME goals for success!

I also thought it would be fun to take a walk down memory lane and point out some pretty awesome moments from the past decade. So let’s start there….

Well let me just start by saying this past decade had A LOT of milestones. Starting in 2010 when I graduated high school of course. Still cant believe it will be 10 years in May since then… With that being said, I went off to community college in Orlando and a few years later transferred to UCF where I graduated with my teaching degree. While in college I made some amazing lifelong friendships that I absolutely cherish and I am so thankful for the amazing times we had together. I went through some interesting and rough relationships and learned a lot about myself and the type of person I wanted to end up with. I started dating my love who I had known since we were in 4th grade and crazy enough had been my neighbor for almost 20 years. We are still happily together and have both grown so much in these last 3 and a half years together so I can’t wait to see what is to come for us. I was blessed and lucky enough to get hired as a Kindergarten teacher almost immediately after graduating. Although my first year was beyond challenging I stuck with it and made some incredible friends through it. I decided to do online holistic nutrition school and graduated a year later with a certification for health coaching (still trying to work that part into my life). Shortly after deciding to become a health coach (on top of teaching) I decided to do the one thing I had wished I started a long time ago… a Blog! I decided to start my blog “Kale & Kardigans” and although it took a lot of trial and error, facing fears and just learning how to actually do everything that goes into it. I must say that 2019 was really the BEST year for “Kale & Kardigans”. I grew a tremendous amount on instagram and worked with so many AMAZING brands including ones that I have LOVED for years! I couldn’t believe how far my little blog had grown in just one year and I am forever grateful and thankful for EACH and EVERYONE of you who have supported me and continue to… because without all of you none of this would be possible! So although this past decade definitely had its hard times, I am forever thankful for all the AMAZING people I met and all the AMAZING things that have happened along the way!

So as you all can see a lot has happened and changed in the past 10 years and I am really excited to see what 2020 has in store for me! But I am definitely even more excited to share my goals for 2020 with all of you because I really feel like putting them out there will not only help hold me accountable for them but they may help someone else want to start a goal for the New Year like that too!

So without further ado…

Here are my goals for 2020!

Goal 1: STRESS LESS

Honestly I can’t stress that enough to myself. I need to learn how to not feel like EVERYTHING must get done. This is a problem I have been dealing with for years and it doesn’t make it any better when you’re trying to work a full time job (as a teacher), while running a blog, having a social life, going to the gym & staying active… etc. Too much can be overwhelming and definitely drive me insane. My plan for the new year is to come up with a better schedule to help keep all these things in order and not stress myself out about it. If something doesn’t happen OH FREAKING WELL the day still goes on. This is something I personally feel like I need to work on the MOST!

Goal 2: MY HEALTH (diet & exercise)

Although I am a certified health coach and have been religiously working out and eating well for 8 years now. There are times when you fall off the ladder and let me just say this past year was definitely me falling off the dang ladder. I think once I really put effort into my blog it was hard for me to do EVERYTHING that I wanted to do (as I mentioned above). Some areas of my life slipped away and that was not good for my health. In return between the stress, not working out as much, not eating as well I had probably once of the worst years when it came to my overall well being. I got sick with the flu BAD like the worst I had been sick in my life. My weight fluctuated a lot and I was always tired or not in the mood to give it my all during my workouts. I ate microwavable meals most nights or ate out because I was too tired or stressed out to cook and all of that really took a toll on me. & to end this not so healthy year 5 days away from the new year I developed shingles (assuming from my weekend immune system from the flu & my stress levels being too high). This was a huge wake up call for me and I realized really what I needed to do and that was get back on my feet and get my booty healthy again. I have big plans for that this year and I will definitely be sharing my road to a happy and healthier me with all of you!

Goal 3: PAY MY DEBT & BUY A HOUSE

This is something I really have been working on doing but it always feels like when you’re 5 steps ahead something happens and pushes you 10 steps back. My goal this year is to pay off as much of my debt as I can and finally buy a house with my love. Not really much to write on this one but I am so ready to do it and I couldn’t think of a better way to start a new decade!

Goal 4: WRITE MORE BLOG POSTS

Although I have put A LOT of energy and time into my instagram posts I really need to start doing the same for my blog. When I first started my blog I really had no clue what I was doing so I was not posting as much but now that I have been at this for a little over a year there is really no excuse. I know that life can get cray cray but if I at least try to put out 1-2 blog posts a week that is a great start. I really want to start sharing more than jut fashion and sales with all of you too. Definitely will be sharing a lot more health related posts as well which I am really excited for! If you all have anything you would love a posts on please don’t hesitate to leave me a comment below 🙂

& last but not least…

Goal 5: BE MORE PRESENT ON INSTAGRAM STORIES

This really is not something that is a major goal but I really want to be more present on my instagram stories this year. I feel like I have grown so much and my content on instagram has really grown as well but I still feel like I forget to get on stories and just be me with all of you. So my plan for the new year is to really get better at being on my stories as much as possible. Sharing anything from my day to day life to fashion and health and everything in between!

So there ya have it my TOP 5 GOALS for 2020! I am so excited to get to share these with all of you and even more excited to start doing them. I can’t wait to see what this year has in store for me and can’t wait to continue to grow and share with all of YOU!

Happy New Year & Happy New Decade!

Hope it is the BEST ONE YET!

xo Steph
